We’re back with another spring fling double header in Ojai. One of our all time favorite routes and rides in Southern California, hands down. With two routes to choose from, come ride our two all-time favorite gravel loops in Ojai with views of the Channel Islands and Ventura beaches.
With two routes to choose from - you can choose to do Sulphur and head back to the brewery, or continue on up Sisar and do the big route. Both routes start on the same portion of dirt and split at mile 22.5. The long route will have a chance to refill water and stop at the convenience store before the Sisar climb.
Meet at Ojai Coffee Roasters between 8 and 9am for coffee next door to Topa Topa, roll at 9:05. We will have a neutral rollout to the dirt with a few dedicated regroup spots. This ride will be endurance pace as we build up for a big summer ahead (we know that different fitness levels will be present, hence the dedicated regroup spots).
Get ready for a big day of climbing and stoke in the Ojai mountains with followed by story sharing, drinks and food at Topa Topa post ride. Topa Topa has some of the best tater tots, sandos and beer in the business.
Bring a flat kit, layers and everything (stoke) you need to finish the ride. The long route will climb up to 5,000’ of elevation so layers will be important as weather changes quickly higher up. You may need to put on layers before the descent, so please check the weather before the ride :). There are limited spots to refill water and get food on this route, so please pack accordingly.
