A Coastal Gravel Love Story

Thank Gravel It’s Friday is back for the fifth annual Endless Summer ride in Southern California, with support from Giordana. A coastal gravel luau and afterparty at Laguna Beer Co, chasing that everlasting SoCal weather or the “locals summer” as the surf crew calls it. Hawaiian shirts, salty hair, sand between your toes, and waves crashing on the beach will take you on a throwback ride along the coast. You’ll be throwing shakas and mahalos like it was 1966 (reference to the original Endless Summer movie). This unique expedition takes you up some of the gnarliest single track, heavy dirt climbs, and fast descents, before crawling back to Laguna Beer Co for cold beers and delicious food. Share the stoke as you search the trails of Crystal Cove and Laguna Beach in Orange County for that perfect dirt.

The Beta

Our rides are adventure based, so we will ride to the first climb as a group and from there, everyone can ride at their own pace throughout the day. There will be an aid station to help fuel your journey. Weather can be hot and exposed, or chilly, you never know what you're going to get. Please check the weather and come prepared. No matter what, we are on the journey together. This ride will have technical trails so we recommend a 42mm tire or wider, and a flat kit (we call it Gravel +). The wider and knobbier the better! The terrain will be technical and difficult but we love a challenge and we are here to see riders challenge themselves to something they wouldn't normally do.

The Routes

There will be an option to do two routes… a hard and harder route. These routes will take us along the coast and through trails in Crystal Cove, Aliso Viejo and Laguna Beach. But remember, you have an aid station and fellow gravel comrades to help you on your journey. Routes are subject to change depending on trail conditions, but you can expect:

Frothing - 60 miles | 7000ft climbing

Stoked - 38 miles | 3900ft climbing

We're all about the good times and great lines so the only winner will be the best dressed. Wear your favorite Hawaiian shirt or button down... whichever you prefer. Hang out after the ride, grab food and beers at Laguna Beer Co and win some swag from Giordana.
